Cocktail Academy and La Niña @ The TASTE!

Growing up in California, I often found myself daydreaming of stardom. I would picture  myself one day living in Hollywood, amongst the stars, and driving my convertible through a big studio lot, heading toward an audition for the next big musical film. As it turns out, life’s journey takes many twists and turns and the roads we end up in lead us to the most unexpected places with the most unexpected people. Curiously enough, I did end up in Hollywood, after following my heart into some of the most remote places of Oaxaca, and where I’m headed next has never looked better.

This weekend, I am heading right into the heart of Hollywood: Paramount Pictures!

Accompanied by the great men behind Cocktail Academy, La Niña del Mezcal will be taking the stage at this year’s Los Angeles Times’ The Taste all day on Sunday. One of the hottest food and wine events of the year, the Taste comes back this Labor Day weekend to celebrate with some of LA’s hottest chefs, bartenders and restaurants.

Join us for a summer cocktail for Sunday Brunch headlined by French Laundry’s Thomas Keller and chef de cuisine David Breeden, who will participate in a panel discussion looking back at 20 years of the distinguished restaurant’s history. Also participating will be Keller alums Jeffery Cerciello (FarmShop) and our friend Timothy Hollingsworth (the coming Broad Museum restaurant).

As the sun goes down, go on a guided culinary tour of the city’s best restaurants at Flavors of LA hosted by Russ Parsons & Michael Cimarusti. With cooking demonstrations by Jimmy Shaw (Loteria Grill), Evan Kleiman (host of KCRW’s Good Food)and Amelia Posada (Lindy & Grundy) as well as a panel discussion on foraging with Wes Avila (Guerilla Tacos), Ari Taymor (Alma) and forager Pascal Baudar.

Cocktail Academy, an amazing innovative team that specializes in creating unique craft cocktail experiences and spreading cocktail culture wherever they go, has teamed up with La Niña to bring our mezcal to life at this year’s The Taste!  Be sure to stop by our stand this Sunday and say hello to Max Kestenbaum and Brandyn Tepper and indulge in one of their delicious signature cocktails.

Here is a little sneak peak of what they have in store for us:
